Funding will be used to bring biomedical scientists and clinicians together with engineers, mathematicians and computational biologists to address the challenges of personalized healthcare and to engage patients and the public in discussion around benefits and concerns. The Centre will fund postdoctoral salaries working in multidisciplinary teams on projects approved, in competition, by a management board on scientific merit and fit with the ethos of the Centre; workshops, hackathons and sandpit activities to stimulate ideas and solutions to key problems; access to key technology; education and public engagement; and part-time centre manager and administrator.
