Perform microbiome testing of routinely processed NHS Bowel Cancer Screening Programme (NHSBCSP) samples* to determine if microbiome data can improve screening accuracy. *at the beginning of the project screening samples were gFOBT cards; the NHSBCSP have since moved to using FIT samples instead. Sub-study: Perform microbiome testing of routinely processed samples from individuals with symptoms of bowel cancer undergoing FIT testing through the Nottingham Colorectal Service, to determine if microbiome data can improve accuracy of detecting bowel cancer.
