South West Biosciences Doctoral Training Partnership (SWBio3)

The South West Biosciences Doctoral Training Partnership (SWBio3) will train the next generation of bioscience researchers through a consortium of UK universities and research organisations. This matters because the UK needs a steady pipeline of skilled scientists to tackle challenges in food security, sustainable agriculture, biotechnology, and environmental health. Without structured training programmes, early-career researchers may lack the breadth of expertise—from molecular biology to data science—required to address complex biological questions. If successful, SWBio3 will produce PhD graduates equipped to work across academia, industry, and policy.
