DTA - The University of Manchester

The University of Manchester will train the next generation of doctoral researchers through a Doctoral Training Partnership (DTP) funded by EPSRC. This matters because the UK’s research and innovation capacity depends on a steady pipeline of highly skilled scientists and engineers. Doctoral training partnerships provide the structured environment—supervision, resources, and collaborative networks—that turns promising graduates into independent researchers capable of tackling complex problems. Without sustained investment in this training infrastructure, the country risks a shortage of expertise in critical fields such as advanced materials, quantum technologies, and sustainable manufacturing.
