A recent Coroner’s report concluded that failure to clean the skin before a routine injection contributed to a patient’s death. This project will support two Primary Care nurses to explore the evidence on skin preparation for intramuscular injections through the assessment of a systematic review. We will critically appraise a relevant systematic review, explore how the findings of the review should be considered in clinical practice, and make suggestions for further research in this area. The participants will be supported to write a commentary of the review which will be submitted for publication to an academic journal.
