Complete Care Companion - Gamification, Machine Learning and Automation to create a new kind of home care

**High quality, personalised home care is** critical to supporting people to remain active, independent and **socially connected** through facilitating activities in the community, **promoting mobility** and enabling people to have a **good quality of life** as they age. But the home care sector is in crisis. 95% of care providers cannot take on any more clients (ITV/UKHCA 2021) due to critical workforce shortages. Depersonalised unevidenced care disempowers older people, antiquated experiences waste time and manual processes make it impossible to scale. **Demand will double** in the next 15 years, with a significant deficit in the quality and quantity of home care available. 1.5million adults today have an unmet care need (Age UK 2018) and demand is rapidly increasing. Critical **shortage of care workers and high churn rates** (caused by poor working conditions e.g. lack of respect, support, training, communication; and inefficient recruitment processes) has caused good applicants to leave for other fields. Additionally, a 'one size fits all' approach to care delivery (de-personalised care) neglects outcomes and disempowers older people, often leading to reluctance to seek support and thus a worsening of mental and physical health conditions; and high rates of unpaid carer breakdown. The impact is profound with poor continuity of care, lack of long-term relationships, and worsening economic inequality.
