The UK Research Councils are funding a new cohort of doctoral students through a network of university partnerships, with the University of Sheffield acting as the lead organisation for one of these training hubs. This grant addresses a structural gap in the UK’s research pipeline: how to train the next generation of scientists and engineers in a way that is coordinated, sustainable, and responsive to national priorities.
