DTA - Durham University

Durham University is receiving EPSRC funding to train the next generation of doctoral researchers across a wide range of science and engineering disciplines. This grant supports a Doctoral Training Partnership (DTP), which provides the infrastructure for postgraduate education rather than funding a single research project. The core problem it addresses is the national need for a skilled scientific workforce. Without sustained investment in doctoral training, the UK risks losing its capacity to generate new knowledge, innovate in industry, and maintain expertise in critical fields.
