Our proposal aims to develop a new class of biobased composite hydrogel materials specifically designed for vibration damping and energy absorption applications. These biobased composites will be sourced locally from various regions worldwide and will serve as 3D printable feedstock. The new hydrogels will be engineered to withstand temperature and humidity ranges beyond typical room conditions and provide superior damping performance compared to fossil elastomeric materials available. As fully biodegradable and bio-sourced materials, they will effectively replace fossil-based materials currently used in commercial damping technologies.
