The synthesis of oligonucleotide (oligo) therapeutics presents significant challenges in terms of scalability, cost, and sustainability. Existing methods, such as Solid Phase Oligo Synthesis (SPOS), suffer from low batch sizes, high production costs, environmental concerns, and limited scalability. Consequently, addressing medical conditions affecting large patient populations with oligo therapies remains a formidable task due to our inability to synthesize large batches of pharmaceutical-grade oligos. Exactmer introduces a groundbreaking solution to this problem through Nanostar Sieving technology. This innovative platform enables large-scale, cost-effective production of precise polymers entirely in solution, overcoming the limitations of traditional solid-phase synthesis methods. By utilizing multi-branched Nanostar hubs and proprietary membranes entirely in liquid phase, Exactmer ensures continuous purification of growing polymers, resulting in large batch production of oligo sequences. The Nanostar Sieving technology offers unparalleled value to companies in the pharmaceutical industry. It enables the production of large batches of oligos (>50 kg; >5 mol), significantly reducing manufacturing costs by up to 35% compared to traditional methods. Moreover, Exactmer's solution minimizes environmental impact by integrating a membrane-based solvent-recycling loop, aiming to reduce solvent consumption by up to 60%. Under OPToligo, we aim to achieve these goals, improving our Nanostar synthesis process for large-batch oligo production, developing membrane innovation and lower manufacturing costs. Exactmer's Nanostar Sieving technology represents a transformative advancement in oligo synthesis, providing cheaper and more sustainable manufacturing solutions for pharmaceutical companies worldwide.
