Pan-African Travel Bursaries for the 6th H3D Symposium

The 6th H3D Symposium, organised by the H3D Foundation, will take place from 13–16 October 2026 at the Arabella Hotel, Golf & Spa in the Western Cape, South Africa. Building on the success of previous meetings, the symposium is expected to convene over 300 delegates from academia, industry, and product development partnerships, including global leaders from organisations such as MMV, TB Alliance, DNDi, LifeArc, Novartis, leading universities, and African research centres. The programme will feature strategic perspectives on infectious disease drug discovery, advances in chemical biology and synthetic chemistry, disease biology to guide discovery, and emerging platforms and technologies that accelerate R&D, alongside poster sessions, workshops, and networking opportunities. The Holistic Drug Discovery and Development (H3D) Centre at the University of Cape Town has a strong history of innovation focused on improving treatment outcomes for African patients, advancing drug discovery technologies and strengthening African scientific leadership. We seek support for 15 travel bursaries for postgraduate students and postdoctoral fellows from low- and middle-income countries. These bursaries will enable early-career researchers to present their work, build international networks, and engage with global experts, fostering collaboration and empowering the next generation of scientists to address diseases that disproportionately affect African populations.
