In the UK's health and social care (H&SC) systems, 77% of staff report that poor real-time information sharing and cross-organisation resource management are increasing risk-averse decision-making, while administrative inefficiencies result in up to 70% of frontline workers' time being spent on administration. This contributes to care delays and poorer outcomes, with 31% of A&E attendances and 20-45% of hospital discharge decisions considered non-ideal, 40k people a year being denied access to reablement/home-based rehabilitation and higher dependence on long-term care. These issues cost UK taxpayers £2.05B/year in increased long-term care costs.
