Ministries of Health in more than 77 LMICs use the free and open-source DHIS2 software to collect and manage public health data, monitor health program performance, and facilitate data-driven decision making from the local to the national level. This proposal seeks to fortify the DHIS2 core software platform. The number and size of DHIS2 implementations are steadily increasing, making it a vital component of e-governance architectures in many countries. To sustain this growing demand and reliance on DHIS2 as digital infrastructure, sustained investment in the core DHIS2 software is required. The proposal outlines three priority areas: - Technology: The objective of this area is to reinforce the foundational software of DHIS2, enhancing its reliability, performance, scalability, and security. - Product: This area will focus on improved usability, interoperability, technical support, and advanced analytics. The goal is to ensure relevant, easy-to-use software that reduces training requirements for end-users and to support sustainable DHIS2 systems which work in concert with other services of a locally-owned architecture to ensure data is available and used for positive action. - Governance & Sustainability: This area aims to strengthen internal HISP Centre processes for developing product roadmaps, collecting community feedback, managing technical changes, and ensuring long-term sustainability.
