Methane emissions and co-pollutants from agriculture are a critical yet underexplored driver of climate change and public health crises. This project aims to revolutionize our understanding of agricultural methane and co- pollutants' impacts on air quality, human health, and economic outcomes across Europe, including the UK. Using cutting-edge high-resolution mapping and atmospheric modeling, we will quantify the unequal burden of agricultural air pollution on diverse socio-economic groups and regions. Our innovative approach will evaluate the effectiveness of various interventions – from methane-inhibiting technologies to dietary shifts – in reducing emissions and improving health outcomes.This project includes a comprehensive, transdisciplinary methodology that bridges the gap between scientific research and policy action. By combining advanced environmental modeling with health impact assessments and economic analyses, we will provide policymakers with actionable, evidence-based strategies to simultaneously address climate change, air pollution, and public health challenges.
