Renewable energy, including the most widely used solar and wind sources, has a variable and uncertain output.This causes huge amounts of energy to be wasted. The most widespread energy storage solution today is the Li-ion battery, which addresses short storage duration (up to 4h) and is costly at scale. Hydrogen is a promising alternative to store renewable energy at scale but there is a gap in available technologies to store it safely and cost-efficiently at ambient conditions for commercial applications.We have developed H2Genx, a plug&play hydrogen-based energy storage system based on the utilization of smart solid state materials and proprietary advanced thermal network systems, that allow production,storage, and controlled release of hydrogen for energy generation, autonomously.H2Genx allows for 2x the energy storage capacity of batteries, long duration storage at >95% efficiency and 55% lower the cost of Hydrogen storage in comparison to traditional compression storage solutions
