The Hybrid Integrated Urban Commercial Vehicle (HiUCV) is a lightweight Heavy Goods Vehicle designed for the urban environment. It is primarily designated as a refuse collection vehicle (RCV), but the vehicle platform will be adaptable to other applications. Fuel efficient, highly manoeuvrable and quiet, the HiUCV is target to halve the carbon emissions per tonne of waste collected of the current best in class RCV in the urban environment. This project will produce a proof of concept vehicle that is a commercially viable improved performance RCV.
