H2B:IMPACT will deploy and consolidate a flagship H2 Valley in The Federal State of Bremen demonstrating the integration of 5 innovative offtaking testbeds in the mobility, construction, logistics and industrial sectors, off taking over 1500 tonnes of H2. The project will built upon a mature existing ecosystem, deploying 25.1 MW of new electrolyser capacity, producing over 3600 tonnes of renewable H2 in 3 full-fledged VCs including production, distribution (both centralized and decentralized) and offtake. The VCs operate in synergy and symbiosis facilitated by state of the art interoperability and optimized logistics systems for balancing and cost-efficiency purposes. The project is backed by a wide plethora of key industrial actors, leading knowledge institutions, innovative SMEs and industry experts, joining forces in deploying the next beyond-state-of-art flagship H2 valley. We will carry out ambitious techno-economic research, connect with 6 replicating valleys and 4 observers, integrate a sophisticated social science and humanities programme to maximize social impact/engagement, facilitate training for professionals, students, civil servants on safety and project results, develop scalability plans and work together in the vast hydrogen valley networks of the consortium on sharing knowledge and skills development. H2B:IMPACT will trigger 70 ME of investments, foster innovation, accelerate the clean transition, and will improve industrial competitiveness of a highly industrialized region while demonstrating massive impact. Performances and impacts of H2B:IMPACT will be monitored across 2 years of full operations, ensuring the highest level of interoperability, harmonization and orchestration of assets. Social, technical, environmental and safety impacts will be assessed in great detail and shared via the H2 valley observatory platform. The consortium congregates experts from DE, NL, ES, EL, PT, BE, IT, UK, DK, FR, Peru, Australia, Canada, Nigeria and Japan.
