This proposal builds on the strengths of the EDIS coalition, bringing together members and leveraging the capabilities of the British Science Association (BSA) and the Francis Crick Institute (The Crick) to deliver EDIS's strategy. Our overarching aim is to foster a collaborative, evidence-led culture across science and health research, where EDI is embedded and valued at all levels. Our initial priority will be reconnecting and consulting with existing members. Over time we aim to grow EDIS membership both in number and across the sciences, becoming a united sector voice and a trusted intermediary between funders, policy makers and research organisations. Other key deliverables will include co-created definitions and principles on inclusive leadership and research, a dynamic training and events programme, an innovation fund to pilot and implement activities advancing inclusive practice, a sector-wide framework and award for inclusive leadership, and the publication of a roadmap on inclusive research. The EDIS website will serve as a central platform for hosting and disseminating communications and resources. Our work will be guided by our consultative and collaborative approach and robust governance framework. Success will be evaluated through qualitative and quantitative methods, supported by an independent Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning partner.
