Support for Global Health Advocates advocacy during France’s 2026 G7 presidency

France is preparing to use its G7 presidency to push health up the political agenda, and this project will equip African civil society groups with the evidence and connections to make sure their voices are heard in those negotiations. The problem is that global health decisions are often made by wealthy nations, while the countries most affected by infectious diseases, climate change, and weak health systems have limited influence over the outcomes. This project fills that gap by creating advocacy materials—case studies and policy briefs—that link health to other G7 priorities, and by building collaborative campaigns between French and African civil society organisations. If successful, the project could shift how French policymakers think about global health. Instead of treating health as a separate issue, they might integrate it into discussions on climate, infectious disease control, and the broader architecture of global health governance. The practical impact would be a more inclusive decision-making process, where evidence from affected communities shapes the policies that emerge from the French G7 Presidency, the One Health Presidential Summit, and the Africa-France Summit.
